How do I sign up for RentMonitor?

To sign up for an account, visit https://www.rentmonitor.com/signup. All you need is an email address to get started. If you are a tenant and want to pay your rent online, please fill out this form so we can contact your landlord.

How much does RentMonitor cost?

The pricing for RentMonitor is simple. Automatic rent collection costs just $2 per transaction with a minimum $10 charge. There are no additional monthly fees or set up costs. You are only charged for the transactions that incur each month. Tenant screening reports costs $20-$25 per report. What types of payment do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover cards.

Is my data secure?

Yes! Our state-of-the-art computer servers are protected by biometric locks and 24-hour surveillance. Our product software and infrastructure are updated regularly with the latest security patches. Our network is protected by an enterprise-class firewall and all RentMonitor plans include SSL encryption to keep your data safe.

What web browsers work with RentMonitor?

RentMonitor works best in Firefox 3 and higher, Safari 4, and Chrome 4. The software also works with Internet Explorer 7, 8, or 9. Since Microsoft is no longer supporting Internet Explorer 6, neither are we.

Do I have to sign a long term contract?

Nope. RentMonitor is a pay-as-you-go service. There are no long term contracts or commitments on your part. You simply pay month-to-month. If you cancel, you’ll be billed for the current month, but you will not be billed again.

Do I need accounting software like QuickBooks?

RentMonitor offers income tracking for your properties, but it’s not designed to be a full featured accounting software. However, we are working on an integration with QuickBooks and Quicken so that all of your accounting will be easier.

Do I need to be in the United States to use RentMonitor?

Yes. At the moment, you must be based in the US to receive payments; this involves both having a U.S. address, and having a valid SSN. We are working hard on to expand to other countries. I’m a tenant that got an email about my direct deposit account, what does it mean?

Good news! It means your landlord has set up an account to accept online payments. You no longer have to write a check and mail it every month! Plus, you can access your rent notices and receipts through RentMonitor so you always have a record of what you’ve paid and what you owe. Can my tenants set up recurring billing?

Yes! Your tenants have the option to pay each notice individually or set up recurring payments.
